History and Information
In 2008, a group of business owners joined together to promote growth and economic development in their community. Thus, the Ball Ground Business Association, a non-profit corporation was formed. In 2012, Association by laws were amended to include community-minded individuals.
Membership is open to all types of businesses and is not restricted to one member per business type, nor is the business required to be in Ball Ground. Dues are affordable, at only $50 per year for business members and $25 per year for individuals. Memberships includes business members’ listings, logos, & contact info on the Association website. The BGBCA hosts monthly luncheons, except in December.
A Growing City
Ball Ground was chartered as a city in 1883, after the railroad depot was constructed, and was a major marble monument producing hub for many years. Today, proximity to both Interstate 575 and Cherokee County Regional Airport make Ball Ground an attractive location for a wide variety of businesses. Being home to Ball Ground Elementary STEM Academy is an incentive for young families to move into the growing community. And just minutes away, right off I-575, are the new Northside Hospital Cherokee and Northside Hospital Radiation Oncology Center.
